I look around and see people cheering as they shout long live the republic. Body after body, they kept cheering. Even as the children and mothers screamed as they were placed before the guillotine. I don’t like it and I don’t believe in it but I have to keep quite or ill be next. The tumbrils keep coming full of people being brought up for execution, how long will this go on. Will they stand here all day and cheer as people are executed. I feel sick in my stomach and I want to do something I want to say something anything that would make them stop or even think about what they are doing. But I’m too scared they’ll kill me. After all I’m just a spectator in a crowd.

I better hurry up with this work, a meetings been called, I think were supposed to vote on whose idea for the windmill is better, speaking of work its seems to have gotten harder since Mr. Jones left, but he was a terrible leader and never took care of us, now with the seven commandment’s were all equal. Even when it seems like everything it is falling apart Snowball comes up with an idea to keep everything together. But I do feel bad for Boxer, he’s always doing extra work and pulls the weight of other animals, but I guess someone has to do. If I had to vote on whose idea now or even who I would want to lead the farm for that matter, I would defiantly choose Snowball, he hasn’t failed us yet and just seems dedicated to make this farm the best it can be. Napoleon just hasn’t done enough to convince me of thinking he would be a good leader, he seems pretty mysterious and I don’t see him around the farm much, though why would I, I’m just Wilfred the farm sheep. Even though Napoleon seems shady he still hasn’t done anything wrong yet...
“Come on Wilfred, the meetings about to start!” shouted Samuel the Bull. “Head over without me, Samuel, I’ll be there soon!” Replied Wilfred. Wilfred and Samuel have always been friends, ever since they were little, they would always get into mischief, though they never made many other friends beside themselves. Samuel was a quit Bull, which is basically the opposite of what most animals expect, he can also be very lazy at times, but he’s a good friend who will stand by you. Well I should get going; wait what was that (Wilfred stops walking after hearing a sound coming from Mr. Jones house), hmm probably nothing, gotta keep moving can’t be late.
“Wilfred! There you are, bout time” said Samuel with a smile. “Yeah got a little sidetracked, what have I missed?” said Wilfred curiously. “Nothing really but Napoleon and Snowball haven’t showed up yet but Squealer has been out here trying to convince everyone to vote for Napoleon’s idea.” “As usual” Replied Wilfred. “Hey Samuel”, “Yeah Wilfred”, “Your gonna think I’m crazy for this but I think I heard something coming from Mr. Jones house” stated Wilfred, “What did you hear” Answered an intrigued sounding Samuel. “Well it sounded like a dog, but not just one dog, lots!” Said Wilfred. “Your right Wilfred…” “You mean you heard it too” Wilfred quickly replied. “No… I just think your crazy,” said Samuel with a smirk. “Oh be quiet” snapped Wilfred. “Shhh it’s starting!” shouted a group of chickens in front of Samuel and Wilfred.
The debate started and Snowball took the stage first, then Napoleon, but after hours of arguing and intense discussion it was clear that Snowball had the most votes. Napoleon just couldn’t come up with any major reasons to make the rest of the animals vote for him. “Wilfred this is getting sooo boring” stated Samuel. “I know, its clear Snowballs going to win, I just don’t see why we need to stay here and listen”. Said Wilfred. “Hey Samuel” “Yeah” “we should sneak off and try and find out what was in Mr. Jones house” suggested Wilfred. “Normally I would say no and call you crazy, but anything to end this boredom, and who knows maybe there is something in Mr. Jones house”. Answered Samuel with the sense of adventure in his eye. “That’s the spirit!” I should be able to sneak out pretty easily, but it could be harder for you, so if you get caught just say you need to go to the toilet”. “Alright lets go” said Samuel eager to get started. First Wilfred snuck out with ease, swift with no problems, next was Samuel at first he seemed nervous but overcame it as he slowly made his way to the exit. Luckily nobody noticed, as they were pretty tired after this long debate. “Finally!” shouted Samuel “Quite! They can still hear us you know” said Wilfred with worry. “Sorry, my bad… so what now”. “Now we investigate the house, but we should look through the window first to see if the coast is clear”. “Well what are we waiting for”. “Also you’ll need to give me a boost so I can see through the window, were not exactly as tall as humans are we.” Said Wilfred. “All right but just this once, and you gotta tell me everything you see, deal?” asked Samuel hoping for a yes. “Deal” replied Wilfred with a smirk. “Oh where would I be without you Samuel?” stated Wilfred smiling. Wilfred and Samuel daringly approached Mr. Jones house. “Ma…ma…maybe we should just go back.” Said Samuel with his eyes wide open. “Do you really want to go back to learning how the windmill give us the “Wonders of electricity!” again.” Said Wilfred sarcastically. “We already know how it works and the improvements it’s going to bring to the farm, but do we really need to sit through another boring speech from Napoleon” said Wilfred trying to win over Samuel. Alright alright, lets just get this over with.” Replied Samuel still weary of what lurks in Mr. Jones house.
The two animal friends approached the house with caution, jumping at every crack they hear coming from the house, and not saying a word to each other, just exchanging scared and blank facial expressions. At last they reached the window. “Alright, give me a boost Samuel. Samuel leaned down and let Wilfred stand on top of him. “Can you see anything Wilfred?” “Yeah” “well what do you see” “nothing, wait wait, I see something in the corner”. “You need to lift me up higher, quickly!” ordered Wilfred. Samuel quickly lifted Wilfred up higher. “What is it, what is it!” asked Samuel. “Samuel get me down now” “why” “just do it”. “What did you see” inquired Samuel. “Dogs but not just any dogs, big huge dogs at least 9 of them.” “Wow, we have to tell Snowball” stated Samuel. “Agreed, but we should wait until after the vote, lets get back there now, it should almost be over anyway.” Said Wilfred.” “Okay l…l…lets go”. Samuel and Wilfred quickly headed back to the barn. When they got in all the animals seemed interested, and cheering for Snowball, they didn’t even notice Wilfred and Samuel enter. “Wow what did we miss?” asked Wilfred with excitement. “I kind of wished we stayed here,” said Samuel feeling regretful.
The debate was about to end and it was clear that Snowball had most of the farm voting for him. All of the sudden Napoleon Whistled. At this…. Nine enormous dogs wearing brass-studded collars came bounding into the barn. They dashed straight for Snowball, who only sprang from his place just in time t escape there snapping jaws. In a moment he was out the door and they were after him. Too amazed and frightened to speak, all the animals crowded through the door to watch the chase. In the end Snowball barley escaped. The dogs returned in an instant and all the animals slowly crept back into the barn too scared to speak up and say anything. Napoleon and his huge nine dogs to the stage. Napoleon went on to announce that Sunday morning meetings would no longer take place and that in future all questions relating to the working od the farm would be decided by a special committee of pigs presided over by himself. There was silence for a while, until four young porkers stood up and uttered sheer squeals of disapproval, but the nine dogs let of a menacing growl and the porkers sat down. The silence continued until suddenly Wilfred stood up and started chanting “Four legs good, two legs bad.” Samuel looked up at him and pleaded for him to sit down “what are you doing, Wilfred! sit down.” But Wilfred kept chanting, at that moment all the sheep in the barn stood up and starting chanting “Four Legs good, two legs bad!” it went on for nearly a quarter of an hour and ended all hopes of discussion. Napoleon then announced that squealer would be sent around soon to explain the situation. But everyone knew Animal Farm was changing.
